UV flatbed printers were once called "universal printers" due to their wide range of material applicability. But the real situation is that there are also some materials that are not suitable for UV flatbed printers to print graphics and texts. For those who intend to buy a UV flatbed printer, you might as well take a look at what materials are they.

1. Reflective material

The UV printer adopts the UV light curing method. For reflective materials, the reflected light is easy to cause the ink on the nozzle surface to solidify, block the nozzle, and cause permanent damage to the nozzle.

2. Materials with strong heat sensitivity

Materials with strong heat sensitivity will shrink and deform when encountering the heat energy emitted by UV lamps. While damaging the material itself, it also poses a potential threat to the nozzle.

3. Materials with poor temperature resistance

Materials with poor temperature resistance present a risk of ignition when exposed to the high heat emitted by UV lamps.

4. Light metamorphic materials

Some photosensitive materials will become brittle and discolored after being irradiated by strong ultraviolet light, and such materials are not suitable for UV printers.

5. Materials incompatible with UV ink

The surface of some materials has poor adsorption to UV ink, and the ink droplets will disperse after attaching, which seriously affects the accuracy. Such materials cannot be printed with UV flatbed printers.

6. Materials with poor corrosion resistance

UV ink contains reactive diluents, photoinitiators, oligomers and various additives that are low in irritation, and some materials that are easily corroded by UV ink are not suitable for UV printers.

7. Materials whose corners have been severely deformed

Materials that are deformed at the corners and cannot be corrected will have the risk of damaging the nozzle and scratching the material. Dont take chances, otherwise, you will face economic losses and lost work costs caused by nozzle damage.

The above is the summary of common UV flatbed printers that are not suitable for printing compiled by Udefine. Hope it can be helpful to everyone when purchasing or using UV printers.
